Download Cinebench

This page was built because people kept asking the same thing: where can I find all versions of Cinebench without bouncing between five different sites? So here it is. Every major version, explained clearly.

Cinebench is free software made by Maxon. It has always been free. If you ever land somewhere that asks for payment or a sign-up, leave immediately, that is not the real thing.

Not Sure Which Version to Pick?

Take a moment to figure out which version makes sense for your setup before scrolling down:

  • Less than 8 GB of RAM, go with R23
  • A modern PC built in the last few years, Cinebench 2024 is your best bet
  • A brand new machine with 16 GB RAM or more, start with Cinebench 2026
  • Want to test both CPU and GPU together, 2024 or 2026 both cover this
  • Comparing against older published reviews, R23 has the largest score database

Cinebench 2026

The Latest Release

If your machine is new and capable, this is where you should start. Cinebench 2026 is the most advanced version Maxon has released, and it gives the most accurate picture of what modern hardware can actually do. The link below takes you straight to the official page — no redirects, no cost.

What Makes It Different

The 2026 version runs CPU and GPU testing through a single unified scene, which makes results far more meaningful than running separate tests. The workload is roughly six times heavier than R23, it includes NPU and AI acceleration testing for the first time, and the interface has been completely redesigned. It is a significant leap forward.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 (build 10240 or higher) or macOS 11.7+
  • At least 12 GB of RAM — 16 GB recommended
  • 6 GB of video memory for the GPU portion
  • A processor with AVX2 instruction support
  • Around 4 GB of free storage

Cinebench 2024

The Most Widely Used Modern Version

Cinebench 2024 brought GPU testing back after years without it, and it remains the version most hardware reviewers used between 2023 and 2025. That makes it especially useful if you want to compare your results against real published benchmarks. It runs on Windows, macOS, and ARM-based devices including Apple Silicon Macs.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) or macOS 11.7+
  • 8 GB of RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended
  • 4 GB of video memory for GPU testing
  • Any 64-bit processor — Intel, AMD, or Apple Silicon

Cinebench R23

The Trusted Classic

Released in 2020, R23 quickly became the go-to benchmark for everyone from bedroom builders to professional reviewers. It no longer holds the top spot, but it is still widely used and has the largest score database of any Cinebench version — which makes comparing results incredibly easy. If your PC is a few years old or light on RAM, this is the right fit.

R23 focuses entirely on CPU performance with single-core and multi-core tests. There is no GPU test, but the CPU benchmark is thorough — it runs a minimum 10-minute multi-core test to capture real sustained performance, not just a quick burst.

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or higher (64-bit) or macOS 10.13+
  • 4 GB of RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended
  • Any modern 64-bit processor
  • No GPU requirements — there is no GPU test in this version

Cinebench R20

A Solid Option for Older Hardware

When R20 launched, it was four times more demanding than the version it replaced and gave a much clearer picture of CPU performance at the time. Most users today will be better served by R23 or newer, but R20 is still genuinely useful for older machines or for matching scores from older reviews. We include it here because people asked for it.

System Requirements

  • Windows 7 or higher (64-bit) or macOS 10.12.6+
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • A processor with SSE3 support

Cinebench R15

A Legacy Benchmark Still Worth Having

R15 was the standard CPU benchmark used in nearly every hardware review for years. You will still see R15 scores cited when people discuss older processors, and it runs comfortably on machines that are a decade old or more. It is very lightweight and simple.

System Requirements

  • Windows Vista or higher, or macOS 10.10.5+
  • At least 2 GB of RAM
  • A processor with SSE2 support

Installing After You Grab the File

On Windows If you went through the Microsoft Store, the app installs itself automatically. If you grabbed the installer from the Maxon website instead, find it in your Downloads folder, double-click it, and follow the short on-screen steps. The whole process takes less than five minutes and Cinebench will appear in your Start Menu when done.

On macOS Open the file you received and drag Cinebench into your Applications folder. Launch it from there whenever you are ready to run a test. Apple Silicon Macs tend to score very well in Cinebench, those chips are genuinely impressive under this kind of workload.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Scores from different versions cannot be compared directly with each other
  • Newer versions need more RAM, so check requirements before grabbing one
  • Cinebench is completely free — any site asking for payment is not legitimate
  • Maxon publishes official checksums you can use to verify that what you have is genuine
  • All links on this page go to official, verified sources only
